Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

rib_ena saidWould it be possible for you to fix the rare dragon image on the target frame?
At the moment Xperl doesn't distinguish betwee a rare mob and a rare elite mob. Both are silver but a rare elite dragon has a wing where the normal rare doesn't.
Thanks.

Lilithil saidI have exactly the same problem as eaglephil999:
"little bug : for hunter pet's happy face doesnt appear with any version."
I really don't know where the crux of the matter is! I definitely checked the options (and I will do it again and again :D) much more than only once.
Maybe... I have to delete the wtf-folder and install the addons one after another to check which one of the other addons is affecting xperl. :[

soulchaos saidHi, I love this addon but I would like to make two requests. Would it be possible that you add a VisualHeal in xperl?
And another thing is that, as a healer, I would be more than happy if you could add a better range finder to raid and party frames. The hand on top on the selected unit is kind of hard to look after when heals need to be done quickly. ( a kind of fade framing for out of range people or something as obvious would be really great. If there is anything like that in this addon already can anyone tell me how to do it?)
Anyway thanks for bringing a great addon, it has been the best so far with cool design, a lot of nice options, and a low memory usage.

joecool777 saidWould it be possible to have another range adjustment for the healer range finder? On my druid, the range for healing spells is at 40 yards and when im trying to heal instead of being at max range I have to be in at 30 yards to get the names to come up. Now this is normally not a problem as during raids the players are very easy to heal but in AV I find it very hard to see who is in range for my heals when I have to be so close. BTW, I love these unit frames and have used them for about a year now so keep up the good work.

Muawijhe2000 saidThe buffs overlap the pet bar, making it difficult to see. I can move the pet bar, or tweaking with settings, but I shouldn't have to for a feature (pet bar) that is so prevalent in the game.
Also, I'm having difficulty fully restoring defaults. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, including different versions. I've deleted all saved variables I can see in the WTF folder. Is there one I'm missing?
Don't let these quips get you though, great add on! Keep it up!

FightsLikeAGirl saidI really love this add-on, but it was a love that was hard-earned. It's taken a few uninstall/re-installs, and lots of monkeying around with it. One thing that solved quite a few problems (and was found quite by accident) is that you can drag the windows around, as long as you have the configuration window open. The only other advice I can give is to play around with the configuration settings. Lots and lots of options! Thank you for a great add-on!

Farmbuyer saidWhere should we report bugs for Grim Reaper, now that it's no longer bundled with X-Perl?
I know to get the most recent version of GR from wowace (or use one of their updaters), but there's no addon page for GR at the wowace wiki, and no bug-report or discussion thread for it on the wowace forums. Nothing turned up at wowinterface either.
